Got involved after seeing the RAG stand at Clubs & Socs fair. Volunteered once a week in first year, then joined the committee in second and still on it now in third year.
Volunteering and being a part of a society that gives back to the local community is very rewarding when you see the small things that make such a big difference to some people. It also acts as a nice break and a stress-free zone from all the college work.
Telling one of the project managers in our local Respond Housing that we could afford to buy all of the homeless children staying there toys for Christmas. It was very emotional and meant a lot to everyone, including us in RAG.
One thing you’ve learned from giving back
How lucky I am to have grown up in such a safe, comfortable environment and homelife.
Somewhere you’ve always wanted visit
Random fact about you
I don’t like potatoes that much even though I work on a potato farm
