Description

FASD Ireland is a national not for profit organisation based in Ennis, and we are currently looking for volunteers to help us raise awareness of the condition and our organisation.

From supporting as at organised events where we have access to the market place and have tables with information on FASD and our services, to engaging with schools and educators to help us access TY students as well as other education establishments (including Colleges and Universities) to present to cohorts of students.

Raising awareness of FASD is a key element of what our organisation does, and full training will be given to all Volunteers so that there is a full understanding of the condition. 

Support is also needed where we are presenting in educational establishments - with opportunities for those confident enough to be able to present to students and staff also. 

Is training provided?: Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

  • Engage with people in market place environments
  • Provide information on FASD and FASD Ireland to the public (full training will be provided)
  • Support trainers/presenters when training/workshops being presented
  • Share their knowledge of FASD across areas they have access to (eg Student Unions, First Years etc)
  • Engage with FASD Ireland to ensure development and feedbvack of materials and resources is up to date

  • Confident
  • Able to hold conversations with the public 
  • Passionate

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Opportunities will be offered as and when they become available, and these may be anywhere across Ireland. FASD Ireland will provide transport if not in the local vicinity.

Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
