Requirements:Irish Sports Council Children's Officer Course
The Club Children's Officer ensures that the club Child Safety Policy is adhered to and is involved in the organisation of Garda vetting for club members who will have direct dealings with children. If complaints are made the CCO will deal with same in conjunction with the Club Committee.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Organise Garda Vetting for club members, ensure the Child Protection Policy is adhered to, deal with complaints if they arise with the Club committee.
Skills required for this role:
General knowledge of Child Protection Guidelines and policies, and a specific knowledge of the Club's policy will be required when in the role.
Good people skills, and experience of working with children.
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Varies, but 2-4 hours a week.
Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
