Volunteers assisting the mentoruring at the Coderdojo Saturday Morning Club.
The CoderDojo movement believes that an understanding of programming languages is increasingly important in the modern world, that it’s both better and easier to learn these skills early, and that nobody should be denied the opportunity to do so. To that end, Coder Dojo established a global network of free, volunteer-led, community-based programming clubs for young people.
Volunteers assist the learners:
Anyone aged seven to seventeen can visit a Dojo where they can learn to code, build a website, create an app or a game, and explore technology in an informal, creative, and social environment.
Time/Location: 9.30am, Saturdays at Room 106.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Assist the Club with setup and cleanup, while also assisting during the club.
Skills required for this role:
No computer skills are neccessary but you will learn loads!
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Choose Morning or Afternoon
Every Saturday 9.30-11am and 1pm -3ish
Mornings @ IT Building, NUI Galway. Check in at 9.30am at Room 106 with Brendan
Afternoon @ IT Building, NUI Galway
Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
