Description

There are several community based Special Olympics Clubs in Cork. They welcome enquires from any interested volunteers. No coaching experience is required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to help out.

- Cork SOI Bowling Club

- Cork SOI Badminton Club

- Cork SOI Swimming Club

- Leeside Legends (Athletics)

- Ballincollig Soccer SOI club

- Owenabue SOI Gymnastics Club

Is training provided?: Yes

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

- Welcome and greet athletes on arrival

- Assist with the delivery of planned coaching sessions

- Promore a positive environment that fosters fun and safety

- Have knowledge and abide by all SOI rules

Skills required for this role:

- Good communications skills

- Personable and friendly

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Cork SOI Bowling Club (Thursday, Leisureplex, 7pm) Cork SOI Badminton Club (Sunday morning, Mahon) Cork SOI Swimming Club (Monday, Lota & Mayfield L.C., 6-9pm) Leeside Legends Athletics (Thursday, Togher, 5.30-7pm) Ballincollig Soccer SOI (Saturday, Model Farm Road, 11am-1pm)

Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
