VMM are committed to supporting local community organisations in Africa, sending short term volunteers to support long-term, sustainable development projects.
Use your photography or film skills to promote community achievements with VMM’s sister organisation, and produce media to directly support the charity’s community initiatives. You will work with the team to produce interactive health sessions and live in the heart of the community in the tropical village. You will also have the opportunity to work on other projects run in the community.
Volunteers will be be involved in capturing the organisation’s current building or educational developments so that donors can understand the latest achievements.
Volunteers normally work 5 days a week with 2 days off. Generally volunteers start at 8am and finish at 4pm however this can vary. Placements are between 2 weeks and 3 months, with start dates throughout the year.
Volunteers bring their skills and experience to the community and capture up to date photographs and films that are needed for promotional purposes including the charity website, school sponsorship and fundraising. They are used to publicise the African charity as well as providing a means of feedback for current donors so they can see the project developments, helping form an important link between supporters and the community.
Volunteers are part of the charity’s life changing development work which aims to provide safe drinking water, improved education and increased sanitation to local communities.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Depending on needs of the community when you join your volunteer role may involve:
Documenting building progress
Capturing educational and community developments
Producing educational community films on health and social issues alongside the local team
Filming volunteers in action
Providing updates to donors for the charities child sponsorship scheme
Minimum time commitment per week:
10+ hour p/week
