Description

We require a number of volunteers in our Glasheen residence to assist with the following activities:


Summer full day outings – from 10 a.m. to 6p.m. on various days 

Outings Assistant – for 1 to 2 hours morning or evening on various days, to attend coffee mornings, shopping or cinema, some previous experience of people with an intellectual disability is desirable.

In house activation – for 1 to 2 hours morning or afternoon on various days, to have a cup of tea & chat, hand massage, reading, assisting the people we support on short walks around the grounds. 

Musicians - for 1 to 2 hours morning or afternoon on various days, playing an instrument and/or singing to entertain the people we support with music.

Is training provided?: Yes

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Volunteers must be caring, patient and enthusiastic and must be over 18 years old.  Training will be given.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Flexible hours, morning, afternoon and evening slots available

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week

Additional screening required for this role:
Application form, Garda vetting, informal interview, induction training
