In Ireland, our 18,000 members campaign on issues like reproductive rights, ending torture and protecting migrant & refugee rights, among others. We are independent of any political ideology, economic interest or religion. We are funded by our members and supporters.
Amnesty International in Galway are an active volunteer group who meet every week in the Irish Centre for Human Rights/House Hotel on Mondays at 6pm. We campaign on issues such as Refugee Rights, Individuals at Risk, Sexual and Reproductive Rights, Human Rights Defenders, LGBTI Rights and Anti-death penalty. We are looking for volunteers for the new academic year to help organise events on a range of human rights issues including film screenings, conferences, street actions, petitioning, Write for Rights letter writing marathon (Christmas Market) and fundraising. You will be expected to attend meeting on Monday at 6pm at the Irish Centre for Human Rights, NUI Galway (Yellow building opposite cathedral on Earls Island).
