Requirements:Energetic, enthusiastic volunteers required for various workshops
NCBI are looking for volunteers to assist at various workshops based in either Drumcondra or Tallaght. These workshops aim to improve the abilities of under 18 year olds in the areas of independent living skills, assistive technology, independent travel and mobility.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Volunteers will be expected to assist NCBI staff and students during activities such as household tasks, accessing public transport, using assistive technology and peer support.
Skills required for this role:
Fluent english is essential.
A knowledge of assistive technology is desirable but not essential.

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
Additional screening required for this role:
All applicants will be Garda Vetted. Volunteers must be available to attend an informal interview and induction/training prior to the event. All of our volunteers are required to complete the HSE online “Children First” course. The online training presentation takes approx 1-2 hours and on completion a certificate of successful completion is issued. Volunteer accommodation will be provided.
