CRIME VICTIMS HELPLINE
National
Requirements:friendly, outgoing, reliable
Are you a people person? Do you enjoy getting out into the community and experiencing new things? The Crime Victims Helpline is currently seeking friendly, outgoing people to help us raise awareness of our services.
The national Crime Victims Helpline, Freephone 116 006, is a listening and support service for victims of crime in Ireland. Our aim is to support, inform and empower victims of crime and all those impacted by crime. We provide time and space for victims to talk about their experiences. We also provide information about the criminal justice system and referrals to other resources in the community.
As an Outreach Volunteer, you will attend events on behalf of the Crime Victims Helpline (CVH). This is not a fundraising position and no bucket shaking is required. We simply want to get the word out about the services we provide. Some examples of the types of events CVH has attended in the past are National Ploughing Championship, Dublin Pride Parade, Cork Summer Show, Over 50s Expo, a wide variety of volunteer fairs and health and safety events.
Training will be provided and expenses associated with attending events will be paid for by CVH. We request that volunteers commit to training and participating in at least two events each year.
We welcome volunteers from all walks of life and value diversity.
