Assist Down Syndrome Limerick by supporting Saturday Club facilitators in the organising and supervision of the drama/dance clubs.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Set up club room.
Greet all members as they arrive.
Support facilitators as required during the club. May include participation.
Supervise members wishing to leave the club room for a break/bathroom during club time.
Prepare refreshments if required.
Ensure club room is returned to original layout on completion of class.
Skills required for this role:
An interest in working with adults and children with special needs. Strong social and interpersonal skills. Good communication skills. Ability to work on own initiative. Ideally may suit students of Speech & Language/OT/Disability nursing/Teaching/Drama/Social Work
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Once a month, Saturday afternoon circa 12.30pm for 2/3 hours.
Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
