Requirements:As a School & Youth Volunteer you will help us to educate and inspire young people in primary and/or postprimary
Are motivated to work with children and young people
- Possess strong presentation skills
- Have excellent communication skills and fluency in English
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Are competent and confident using IT, especially MS Powerpoint
- Share the vision and ethos of Trócaire
- Are committed and flexible in their role as volunteers
- Hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to a car1
- Are available to volunteer during school opening hours
- Are willing to travel within their regions
As a Trócaire volunteer, you will have the opportunity to:
- Learn new skills and develop existing skills
- Learn more about the work of Trócaire around the world
- Meet with likeminded people
- Play an active role in our movement for a more just and sustainable world
- Induction and training will be provided by Trócaire and must be attended by all volunteers
- Relevant expenses incurred in carrying out your volunteer role with Trócaire will be covered
-This volunteer role is open to applicants aged 18 years and over
We will ask you to complete a full application form.
Face to face volunteer interviews will take place in Dublin and Cork (interview dates in Northern Ireland to be confirmed)
Volunteer Induction will take place in Dublin on October 8th and in Cork on October 15th (induction dates in Northern Ireland to be confirmed)
As part of our recruitment process, two references will also be required
In line with our Safeguarding Children Policy, you will be asked to sign some policies and declarations.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.
Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
