We, the students of Fáilte Refugees, encourage students to volunteer to help on this campaign from all over Ireland. 


To increase awareness of the global migration crisis.

To empower the students of Ireland to be agents of change.

To motivate the people of Ireland to support the Irish Government to stand by its commitment of accepting at least 4000 refugees.

To welcome refugees into every community in Ireland and support their integration into Irish society.


We encourage students from every discipline across all the different campuses to come together to volunteer as part of this campaign. 

We already have groups of students working together in DCU, DIT, NUIG, UCD, TCD, UCC, WIT, RCSI and NUI Maynooth. If your university is here, why not apply today to join the group?

Is training provided?: Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

  • Meeting with students who are part of the campaign within your Higher Education Institution and nationwide
  • Creating ideas to raise awareness of the Fáilte Refugees campaign
  • Promoting Fáilte Refugees on your campus
  • Aim to reach the goals of the campaign
  • Write short blog posts for the Fáilte Refugees website of the work being carried out by the group on your campus
  • Encourage staff on your campus to become involved in the campaign

Skills required for this role:

  • Friendly, approachable
  • An interest in helping refugees, asylum seekers, those with leave to remain and those under subsidiary protection

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Time commitment will depend on individual HEIs.

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
