Be part of the UCD Festival 2019

On Saturday, 8 June 2019, we will welcome 20,000+ visitors to campus for free events in science & innovation, arts & humanities, technology, business, health and well-being activities. The UCD Festival is our largest public engagement event showcasing the best and the brightest of the UCD community!

Behind the scenes of the UCD Festival, over 500 people – alumni, students, staff and people from the local community – work in collaboration to bring the festival to life and make it an exciting, diverse and vibrant event for all to enjoy.

Application Process

We are now welcoming applications from new and returning UCD Festival volunteers! Volunteering is a great way to meet students, alumni, faculty and staff, whilst learning new skills and having fun. Please complete the form attached at the link below and apply today!

The deadline for Volunteer Applications is Friday, 10 May 2019.

The UCD Festival is our largest public engagement event showcasing the best and the brightest of the UCD community!

Behind the scenes, over 500 people will work in collaboration to make this year's event the most exciting, diverse and vibrant yet.

We need volunteers to help:
• Encourage people in the local area to come along to the Festival
• Set-up, decoration and pack down the Festival site
• Welcome and direct exhibitors to festival areas
• Meet, greet and orientate public visitors
• Assist UCD Festival staff, demonstrators and speakers
• Be social media ambassadors on the day
• Act as lecture stewards
• Staff information points around campus
• Evaluate and capture feedback from the day

Volunteers will be matched with roles that are relevant to their skills and interests on the day, to get the most out of being a part of the festival. 

We are looking for volunteers that will be approachable, have good communication skills and lots of energy for the day! 

Details of time commitment needed for role:
The Festival is a one-day event and we ask for a minimum of 4 hour commitment from our volunteers on the day, according to what will suit them best.

Minimum time commitment per week:
4 hour p/week
