UL Student Life
Requirements:Garda Vetting Required
The ‘Uni 4 U’ programme (organised by the Access Centre, NUIG) is currently looking for mentors to help on their 6-week programme, which is beginning after the February mid-term break. The ‘Uni 4 U’ programme works with 5th and 6th class students from three local primary schools. The aim of the programme is to break down barriers and show the students that University is accessible to all.
The ‘Uni 4 U’ programme requires mentors for one-two hours per week for a six-week period. The programme will run every Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 9.30-12pm. Ideally a mentor would pick a time slot that suits and attend every week at that given time as the students really look forward to seeing their particular mentor each week. Mentors can volunteer for an hour or two hours per day. We are currently looking for mentors that like working with young people and that would take part in their fun academic classes. The Uni 4 U programme is very rewarding and it is great experience.
