The Shona Project
Requirements:An interest in womens issues, and a desire to help others.
The Shona Project is a non-profit organisation which aims to help young Irish women through all the challenges they face such as bullying, anxiety and depression, body image, school stress, family challenges etc. We do this through school workshops, events and through our busy and rapidly expanding website and social media challenges. Our website serves three functions; providing information and advice, sharing and celebrating positive female role models and providing girls with a forum to share their own stories. Examples of these can be read here http://shona.ie/your-stories-your-voices/
We are currently looking for members for our youth council who will help to inform decisions on teh direction our organisation will take, and to act as ambassadors.
We also invite young women and/or professionals to write short posts providing information and advice on any of the challenges mentioned above. This can include personal accounts (anonymous if required), advice from professionals (doctors, counsellors, teachers, etc), or pieces regarding relevant news, events etc. We encourage suggestions or ideas on other themes, or subjects that should be considered.
