“How to Be an Ally” Workshop: Exploring Active Anti-Racism

The ALIVE student volunteering programme hosts community partner the Galway One World Centre for an interactive workshop on how to engage with anti-racism and pursue allyship.

To be an ally means to actively engage in the transfer of the benefits of your privilege to those who lack it and to amplify voices of the oppressed before your own. Practical scenarios are the basis of this workshop, which has been delivered with students annually with powerful discussions and opportunities for professional and personal development.
