About Us:The mission of the school is to advance Nursing and Midwifery practice and provide leadership for the profession of Nursing and Midwifery
The School of Nursing & Midwifery is currently revising the Undergraduate Nursing Curriculum, and we are seeking a dedicated Student Representative from years 2 or 3 of the undergraduate nursing and midwifery programmes to participate in the Curriculum Review Committee. This opportunity is open to all undergraduate nursing students at UCC. Interest in student advocacy, curriculum development, or quality enhancement is an advantage, but no prior experience is required.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to shaping the future of the BSc Nursing and Midwifery programmes, ensuring that student perspectives and experiences meaningfully inform teaching, learning, and programme development.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
As a Student Representative, you will:
Participate in committee meetings over a 1 year period
Provide insight into the student experience of teaching, learning, assessment, and practice placements
Review draft curriculum materials and offer constructive feedback
Engage with fellow students to gather views and bring these forward to the committee
Contribute to discussions on programme structure, module content, sequencing, and assessment methods
Support student–staff collaboration to enhance the overall quality of the programme
You will be fully supported by the committee members and will be provided with guidance on the review process.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
The Curriculum Review Committee will meet approximately 6 times per year, with occasional additional meetings as needed. You may also be asked to review documents or gather student feedback between meetings. The total commitment is expected to span approximately 18 months.
