Description

St John Ambulance Ireland - Raheny Division is looking for new recruits to join our team of volunteers, no previous first aid or medical training is necessary, we will provide you with all necessary training (Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) accredited courses).

We are also welcoming any PHECC registered practitioners (EMT's, Paramedics, Advanced Paramedics), Nurses (An Bord Altranais) or Doctors (Irish Medical Council) to volunteer with us!

You will be joining a team of dedicated volunteers with divisions across Ireland, our members have skillsets spanning from basic First Aid all the way up to Advanced Paramedic & Doctor, we also have members from other non-medical professions.

You may have seen us at events you've been at recently, we provide pre-hospital care & ambulance cover at some of Ireland's most iconic venues & events, some examples would be Croke Park, Aviva Stadium, RDS, St Patricks' Festival Parade, St. Anne's Park Concerts to name a few, along with many smaller duties in our local area!

We hold weekly Divisional Training on Friday evenings from 20:30 - 22:00 in Coolock (further information provided on request)

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

  • Provide high-quality first aid & pre-hospital care to the public.
  • To render aid to those in need.
  • To undergo training when necessary.
  • To abide by the SJAI Code of Conduct at all times.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and organisational policies of St John Ambulance Ireland.
  • To wear the uniform of SJAI whilst on duty to a high standard and as per organisational uniform standards.
  • To conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times whilst undertaking duties on behalf of SJAI.
  • To maintain valid Garda Vetting, TÚSLA ChildrenFirst certificate and SJAI Child Protection / Safeguarding Cert.
  • To maintain valid PHECC certificates.
  • To remain within your scope-of-practice at all times whilst on duty with SJAI.
  • Be willing to work as part of a team and take instruction.
  • To be willing to abide by the motto of St John Ambulance Ireland "Pro Fide, Pro Utilitate Hominum," which translates to "For the Faith, For the Service of Humanity".
  • To respect all equipment, vehicles and property of the organisation.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
We are fully flexible and will work with you, You are free to volunteer as much or as little of your time as you like! You will be required to attend 12 divisional training sessions per year. We also ask that our volunteers attend duty as much as possible to gain experience and further their learning.
