On Thursday, 5 December 2019, UCD in the Community were delighted to launch the UCD Community Engagement Report 2018-19. The report was launched by Professor Joe Carthy and was attended by over 70 staff and students from the UCD community.
"The purpose of this report is firstly, to celebrate, highlight and record and the many fantastic contributions of our staff, students and alumni, both outside and within the university. This is easier said than done because of the number and varieties of contributions of staff and students. Hence, we are very aware that the report is only a snapshot of the activities that took place from September 2018 to August 2019. We welcome further submissions for the online version of the report", said Joe Carthy.
A special thanks to Dr. Daniel Crean (School of Veterinary Medicine), Dr. Bridget Hogg (School of Veterinary Medicine) and Associate Professor Hilda Loughran (School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice), who spoke about their respective community engagement initiatves and volunteering.
UCD in the Community intend to produce the UCD Community Engagement Report annually, and welcome submissions from across campus for the 2019-20 academic year. Email ucdic@ucd.ie for more details.
