What You’ll Be Doing

As an Action for Happiness Volunteer, you’ll help bring people together for interactive learning experiences based on positive psychology — the science of what helps humans thrive.

You can run sessions online or in person, on campus or in your local community.

Two main ways to get involved:

The 6-Week Happiness Habits Course
Delivered by pairs of volunteers, this popular course combines:

  • Short expert videos
  • Science-backed activities
  • Group discussion and real connection

You’ll guide people through six powerful themes that shape a meaningful life:
Gratitude, Self-Care, Relationships, Resilience, Kindness, and Meaning.
Many participants describe it as life-changing — including the volunteers who run it.

Monthly Happiness Groups
Prefer something more flexible? Host a monthly group where people explore a happiness theme, learn practical tools, and commit to small actions that benefit themselves and others.
