Description

ATU is developing a brand-new student app—and we want students at the heart of its creation. Join our Student App Development Advisory Panel to help shape the future of digital student life at ATU.

As a volunteer, you’ll:

  • Contribute to decision-making around the app’s design, features, and functionality.
  • Evaluate current student information systems—what’s working, what’s frustrating, and what could be better.
  • Represent the voice of students, ensuring the app reflects real needs and priorities.


This opportunity is ideal for:

  • Students studying communications, marketing, business, or app development.
  • Anyone passionate about user experience, digital tools, or student advocacy.
  • Creative thinkers and problem-solvers who want to make a tangible impact.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

As a member of the Student App Development Advisory Panel, volunteers will be expected to:

  • Attend regular online meetings (fortnightly or monthly) to discuss progress, share ideas, and provide feedback.
  • Offer honest, constructive feedback on existing student systems and proposed app features.
  • Conduct informal peer research—chat with fellow students to gather insights, opinions, and suggestions.
  • Advocate for student needs, ensuring diverse voices and experiences are reflected in the app’s development.
  • Engage in creative brainstorming around design, usability, and content.
  • Review prototypes and mock-ups, helping identify strengths and areas for improvement.


These tasks are designed to be flexible and manageable alongside your studies, while still giving you a meaningful role in shaping the future of student life at ATU.
