Requirements:Seeking Volunteers - Someone who is caring, non judgemental, likes to have fun and getting to know others.
We are looking for volunteers to take part in Foroige's mentoring programme where you will be matched with a young person and will meet weekly in the community.
You will take part in activities with the young person you are matched with for example: playing sports, going to museums, walks, going for coffee, window shopping etc.
No experience necessary. All you need is to be someone who is open to having some fun and helping a young person in need of support in the process.
All training will be provided.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Spend 1-2 hours a week with young person
Commit to being matched for 1 year
Agree to follow our programme procedures
Participate in volunteer training
Maintain regular contact with your assigned staff member.
Skills required for this role:
No particular skills needed, just an interest in helping young people.
Details of time commitment needed for role:

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
Additional screening required for this role:
All training will be provided by Foroige. There is an information session, interview, application form, garda vetting, volunteer induction training, Child Protection Training and Tusla's Children's First Training.
