Service description
The COPE Galway Charity Shop is run by a paid manager, assistant manager and a team of around 50 volunteers, who kindly donate their time and effort.
The shop sells donated ladies’, men’s and children’s clothes, accessories and jewellery, books, CDs/DVDs. The shop is a vital source of revenue for our services.
What’s involved?
As a Books Volunteer, you will help process and prepare donated books for sale in the charity shop. This includes sorting, cleaning and organising a wide range of books – including fiction, non-fiction and children's books.
You will help identify and price high quality books using basic research and guidelines and manage stock rotation by removing unsold items in line with shop policy.
The role involves scanning selected books using and app and online system to determine their resale value an prepare them for shipment to a recycling partner.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys book, is detail oriented, and is comfortable learning simple online tools.
