Description

The Transferable Skills Unit at the University of Limerick is currently recruiting volunteer Content Creators to highlight the work of the Transferable Skills Unit during the 2025/26 academic year.

This is an exciting opportunity for creative and enthusiastic UL students to gain real-world experience in digital media, communications, and student engagement, while contributing to a meaningful student-focused initiative.

All volunteer hours will count towards the UL President’s Volunteer Award (Bronze, Silver or Gold) and can be combined with other volunteering commitments.

About the Role

As a Volunteer Content Creator, you will work with the Transferable Skills team to produce engaging and student-friendly content for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn. You will promote the Transferable Skills Unit and raise awareness about workshops, events, and other supports offered by the Unit.  You will promote the new E-Portfolio which students can use to showcase the skills developed during their time in UL.

This role is ideal for students who enjoy content creation, storytelling, and building community through social media.

Who Should Apply?

We're looking for students who are:

Enthusiastic, curious, and willing to learn

Creative and confident in generating content ideas

Passionate about student development, communication, or marketing

Experienced in the use of social media platforms, especially Instagram and TikTok

No formal experience is required, just energy, interest, and initiative! Knowledge of tools like Canva, CapCut, or InShot is a bonus but not essential.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Activities will include:

  • Designing social media content (videos, graphics, reels, posts)
  • Capturing student testimonials and stories about skill development
  • Promoting the E-Portfolio and student events through campaigns and features
  • Helping to shape and represent the student voice of the Transferable Skills Unit
