About Us:To promote meaningful volunteer opportunities to all sections of the community and foster excellence in volunteer involving organisations
We need a few more volunteers to join our current team in providing an opportunity for non-native English speakers to start learning, or to improve their English language skills and local information.
Volunteers needed for ATU on Saturdays 11am-1pm.
You will be asked to support people speak and learn English in an informal, friendly atmosphere.
We provide the training materials. No teaching qualifications needed, just a friendly outlook and the willingness to chat to people learning English.
Is training provided?:Yes
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
To engage newly arriving Ukrainian people with informal English conversation opportunities.
Teaching/Tutoring/Supporting learning.
Person should be patient, interested in people; prior experience in teaching or teaching languages would be an advantage but not essential. We ask that tutors are able to commit to the role for three months minimum so as to provide a consistent resource for the participant.
