Description

Do young people in your area need a space to connect, learn, and take action for the environment? Start a youth-led ECO club in your community — with training, resources, and support from ECO-UNESCO.


It is a fun youth-led space to explore the environment, build skills, and make real change! Meet after school, connect with peers, enjoy outdoor activities, and lead local eco-projects.

What is a Club?

A club is a space for young people to regularly come together to
explore the environment, build skills, and make real change.

What do clubs do?

It is up to your team to make the decision! You can organise a beach
clean-up, a nature walk, a zero-waste campaign, or any activity you
find beneficial to the environment that also involves your community.

Is training provided?: Yes

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

  • Initiate, plan, and oversee projects

  • Motivate and support members

  • Manage resources and funding

  • Report to ECO-UNESCO team

  • Undertake leader training and Garda Vetting

Skills required for this role:

  • Enjoy working with young people (10–25)

  • Passion for the environment and sustainability

  • Good at organising and planning activities

  • Friendly, clear communicator

  • Supportive mentor who encourages youth leadership

  • Flexible and adaptable

  • Works well in a team

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Will need to be available to organise and facilitate club meetings and activities - minimum meeting once a month. Must also be available for Club Leader Training - dates and locations tbc (one online version confirmed)

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
