Want to make a real difference in your community while developing valuable skills? Join the Hi Digital Programme, a nationwide initiative bridging the digital divide between generations.

Many older people (65+) are missing out on the benefits of the digital world — from connecting with loved ones on social media to managing their banking online. The Hi Digital programme, developed by Vodafone Foundation in partnership with ALONE, offers step-by-step lessons to help them get online confidently.


Is training provided?:Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

As a Hi Digital Mentor, you’ll work with participants to guide them through fun, bite-sized lessons on topics like:

  • Using smartphones and tablets
  • Accessing the internet and researching hobbies
  • Using apps for travel and entertainment
  • Staying safe online and getting started with online banking

What You’ll Do

  • Teach and support older adults in small group sessions
  • Help them grow their confidence using digital tools
  • Share tips, encouragement, and celebrate their progress

Transport is provided, and no prior teaching experience is necessary — just patience and a willingness to help!

Details of time commitment needed for role:
2 hours per week on the weeks you are available

Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hours p/week

Additional screening required for this role::
1 hour online e-training course in advance.
