Description

Volunteering will help ASD school visits and special occassion visits at Dreamland. 

The main role is supporting these children during their play visits at dreamland. (Max of 10 children) 

Is training provided?:Yes

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Volunteers will help at events at Dreamland - ASD School visits and special Occassions like Santa visits.  Their main role is supporting these children. (Max group is 10 children).  Further information on the charity is available at www.shareadream.ie

Providing joy, respite and inclusion for children who are seriously ill or disabled, giving them and their families meaningful moments - escaping from medical routines, fears and hospitalisation. 

Seeing children having fun, laughing and smiling - knowing you have contributed something positive is deeply rewarding. Volunteers claim it gives a great sense of purpose and boosts mental well-being.  

Details of time commitment needed for role:
School tours on week days - generally 1 visit per week (10am to 1pm) Special events e.g. Santa Visits - generally saturdays (11am-2pm)

Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hours p/week

Additional screening required for this role::
Garda Vetting and Informal Interview with Charity Staff. *PLEASE NOTE *- Even if you are Garda Vetted for other clubs you will have to be Garda vetted again for this Charity - We will process the application but it will necessitate you bringing the original documents (No photocopies accepted) such as your passport and a household bill to meet our own Garda Vetting Officer who will assist you in completing the necessary paperwork. Thank you.
