Description

Pobal Bia, the ATU student food pantry, is open from 1:00- 2:30 every Wed. 

• Student volunteers help to unpack and display the food, after it has been delivered to campus from Food Cloud (at 11:30)
• Student volunteers help the student customers choose food to take home (from 1- 2:30)
• Student volunteers help collect the five euro donation from student customers, and check the student IDs as they enter Pobal Bia (1:00- 2:30)
• Student volunteers help pack up any left over food and put it away safely for the following Wed. (2:30-3)

Is training provided?:Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

-Student volunteers are required to have previously completed manual handling training and food safety training before beginning at Pobal Bia (not provided)

Benefits of Volunteering:

Pobal Bia is a community.  We help students access food.  Students are appreciative and this leads to a really wonderful atmosphere.  We listen to music and chat as we help distribute the food.  There are a range of student volunteers, from many programmes at ATU and from a diverse range of cultures.

Wed. from 11:30- 2:30

Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hours p/week
