Description

The volunteer chairperson serves as the central organiser and leader for the Postgraduate Society. This role is focused on the critical tasks of establishing and managing a functional committee, guiding a team of peers, and making key decisions to ensure the society operates effectively. 

The chairperson is responsible for transforming the society's goals into tangible actions by building a strong, collaborative team and ensuring all members are on the same page.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

• Set the overall vision and goals for the Postgraduate Society for the academic year.

• Make final decisions on society activities, budget allocations, and key initiatives in consultation with the committee.

• Take the lead on resolving any major issues or conflicts that arise.

• Lead the recruitment of new committee members, ensuring key roles are filled.

• Delegate specific tasks to other committee members.

• Build and maintain good relationships with the research office.

• Communicate updates and important information to the postgraduates of ATU.
