Description

We are looking for student volunteers to help represent the School of Nursing and Midwifery at upcoming UL Open Days on October 16th and 17th 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to share your advice and insight on the student experience, meet prospective students, and represent the school. 

On the day, you may be asked to:

Welcome visitors at the information stand in the Health Sciences Building

Co-host guided tours of the Clinical Skills Laboratories

Assist with managing visitor flow in the Health Sciences Building

Support activities in the Simulation Suite (Millstream Building)


You will have the opportunity to talk about your programme and student life here—no preparation or materials needed, just your enthusiasm. Full guidance will be provided on the day.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Students may be asked to;

  • Support the School of Nursing and Midwifery stand with members of faculty. (The stand will be located in the lobby of Health Sciences Building).  
  • Host guided tours of the Clinical Skills Laboraties with members of faculty (Clinical Skills Laboratories located on the first floor of Health Sciences Building). 
  • Assist and manage visitor flow in Health Sciences Building. 
  • Support as directed and required on the day in the Simulation Suite (The Simulation Suite is located on the ground floor of Millstream building MC0-007A). 

Further guidance will be given on the day.

It is expected that students will be able to speak to their programmes in the School of Nursing and Midwifery and to talk about the school and the university in a favourable light. You will not need any materials prepared in advance.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
10am - 2pm Thursday 16th October 2025 and/or 10am - 2pm Friday 17th October 2025 Students will have to commit to the full duration of the day. Students are asked to arrive 10 - 15 minutes early to be briefed on their tasks for the day.

Minimum time commitment per week:
4 hours p/week

Additional screening required for this role::
Students must be currently registered as an undergraduate student in School of Nursing and Midwifery. Registration will be verified upon application.
