About Us:STAND mobilises third-level students to stand up for global justice, equality and sustainability.
Applications now open for the roles of ‘Student Volunteer Course Coordinators’ on our spring Global Issues @ UCC course (UCC students only) and our Global Issues @ Galway University course (Galway Uni students only)
To maximise the impact of the spring 2026 Global Issues courses, we’re recruiting several student volunteers to help coordinate. The role will be engaging and rewarding, with a variety of tasks. See tasks in the section below.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Liaising with Education and Research Manager & course Facilitator in advance of each session to understand session requirements
Helping with recruitment by posting on social media, postering on campus etc.
Sourcing relevant room on campus to run some of the workshops (for on-campus sessions)
Welcoming students to each workshop & introducing the course facilitator each week (additionally, closing the session, thanking the facilitator and introducing the topic of the next session)
Providing tech support at each session- this might include setting up projector/laptop etc.

As a course coordinator, you will gain valuable skills in working as part of a dynamic team to co-host in-person interactive trainings on global issues. You will gain experience in managing and hosting workshops as well as building your professional network through liaising weekly with our expert facilitators. You will also benefit from participating in the course free of charge (normal cost is €25).
Details of time commitment needed for role:
STAND is a not-for-profit initiative, and as such this is a voluntary position. An online induction and briefing for all course coordinators in advance of the start date will be included with this role. In addition to participating in each 2-hour session, there is an expected time commitment of one hour (max) per week in order to report back to the Education and Research Manager following each session, and follow up on any issues that may arise.
