Description

Focus Ireland are seeking student volunteers to organise their own 'Big Busk' on campus in the University of Limerick.

Taking place on any day during the week of the 27th of April (or a better week that suits), the Big Busk Leader will recruit musicians, bands and solo artists to perform and fundraise for Focus Ireland.

The Leader will organise a committee to help them secure a location on campus or externally, recruit performers and encourage fundraising.

Focus Ireland Fundraising staff will be on hand to help with any queries, guide the organisers on logistics and send fundraising materials to the Leader and their committee.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

- Secure a suitable location on campus or externally for the Big Busk
- Secure other student volunteers to form a committee and help with the organisation of the event and to help on the day of the event
- Recruit musicians, bands and solo artists to perform on the day
- Manage a timetable of musicians, volunteers and stakeholders (venue etc.) for the day of the event
- Liaise with Focus Ireland Fundraising staff weekly to go over progress, receive fundraising material and lodge money raised after the event

Details of time commitment needed for role:
This role will need a time commitment of 1-2 hours per week, mainly administrative in the organising stage. The day of the event (May 1st, for example), is normally an 8-hour day for the Big Busk, between set-up, set-down and all of the performers in between. This day can be as long or as short as you make it. Longer days for the event means more fundraising.

Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hours p/week

Additional screening required for this role::
Applicants will go through an informal meeting with Community Fundraising Officer, Cian Dalton on Microsoft Teams.
