Description

We are seeking Voluntary Shop Assistants to join the team at the Anam Croí Charity Shop. This rewarding role offers the chance to meet new people, develop retail experience and, most importantly, support the essential services we provide for older people in our community.

About Anam Croí: Based in Claregalway, Anam Croí supports older people through social care, community connection and purpose-built housing. Our Day Centre provides a welcoming space where older adults enjoy meals, activities and companionship in a supportive environment. The Anam Croí Charity Shop plays a vital role in funding this work.

Why volunteer? This is a fantastic opportunity to get hands-on experience in a retail setting, connect with others and contribute to a meaningful cause. Volunteers help serve customers, keep the shop floor organised and assist with the day-to-day tasks that keep the shop running smoothly.

No previous experience is required, just a friendly attitude, reliability and a willingness to help!

Every hour you give helps us provide care and connection to older people in our community.

Is training provided?:Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

  • Greeting and assisting customers
  • Operating the till (training provided)
  • Restocking shelves and displays
  • Tidying and organising the shop floor
  • Helping with general tasks as needed

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Fully Flexible: Our shop is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm, and we can arrange a volunteering schedule that works around your studies.

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week

Additional screening required for this role::
No experience needed, just a friendly attitude, willingness to help and reliability.
