Looking for a life-changing adventure? SERVE is teaming up with two powerhouse projects in Bengaluru (Bangalore) — helping people rebuild their lives and reclaim their futures.

At APD (Association of People with Disabilities), you’ll empower people with disabilities through therapy, education, and skills training — both in the city and rural villages.

At Sumanahalli, you’ll work alongside communities affected by leprosy and HIV, supporting education, care, and vocational training on a 60-acre campus full of hope and heart.

Whether you’re into healthcare, education, social work, construction, or just rolling up your sleeves to make a difference — India is calling.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Volunteer Tasks:

  • Support physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy sessions

  • Assist with special education classes for children with disabilities

  • Help design and run life-skills or vocational training workshops

  • Support wheelchair services and assistive device distribution

  • Assist with admin, documentation, or awareness campaigns

  • Help train local staff and families on inclusive practices

  • Support care in the leprosy and HIV rehabilitation clinics

  • Assist teachers and students in St. Joseph’s School

  • Help facilitate life-skills and vocational training sessions (e.g., garment, leather, or candle making)

  • Engage with young people in the ‘Echo’ rehabilitation centre

  • Provide creative workshops (art, music, English, sports, etc.)

  • Contribute to awareness-raising and community education programmes

Details of time commitment needed for role:
The overseas project (average 4 weeks) is only one piece of our Volunteer Programme. When you accept the placement you’re signing up to a year long programme. This includes training days, Ireland based volunteer events, Global Citizenship Education workshops and learning about the Sustainable Development Goals. The programme includes mandatory training days in Cork to ensure you are prepared and ready. It also includes creative work: self reflection blogs, photography and videos. You are also required to attend a post programme celebration weekend, to debrief and reflect on your experience alongside your co-volunteers. Volunteer Training commences from February – June 2026 (before overseas departure).
