About Us:Our purpose is to enable young people to involve themselves consciously and actively in their development and in the development of society.




Description

Volunteers are asked to positively engage young people in their own development and the development of their communities. This is done by building positive relationships with the young people and staff, by being a positive role-model to the young people, and by encouraging and engaging the young people in various projects.

Ideal candidates will be open, honest, reliable, and friendly people, who are able to listen, show initiative, and who posses some skills in terms of hobbies or interests such as playing an instrument, arts and crafts skills, IT skills, sports experience etc. National police clearance (Garda Vetting in Ireland) is required for each jurisdiction in which you have resided in for a period of 12 months or more.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Min Hours: 2 hours weekly

Tasks:

Volunteers are asked to positively engage young people in their own development and the development of their communities. This is done by building positive relationships with the young people and staff, by being a positive role-model to the young people, and by encouraging and engaging the young people in various projects.

Volunteers will also be asked to:
Tidy the space and set it up for groups, run errands for project staff including purchasing food from Tesco and photocopying documents, and attend internal Foróige volunteer training.

They will also be required to report any child welfare concerns to staff.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons and evenings.

Minimum time commitment per week:
