Description

Our Cork food redistribution Hub is based in Little Island. Join a team of active and enthusiastic volunteers to support our mission for a world where no good food goes to waste. 

This is a volunteer position where you will have the opportunity to be a central part of the warehouse team. You will be assigned and trained in various warehouse tasks*, to ensure no good food goes to waste! This role is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a warehouse environment while helping to support charities nationwide. 

Our volunteer warehouse assistants play a key role in supporting our operations team and helping with all aspects of a food warehouse. Without them, we would not be able to support our 700+ community partners.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Responsibilities

  • Stock taking and moving stock
  • Processing incoming food donations and completing charity food orders
  • Enforcing HACCP and food safety regulations
  • Engage with your team as an active team member
  • Volunteers must adhere to FoodCloud's safety procedures at all times.
  • Volunteers may be asked to wear a face covering at points during their placement.

Requirements:

  • 18+ years
  • Comfortable lifting and carrying up to 20kg in a warehouse environment
  • Can commit to a 4-hour shift per week for a minimum of 3 months

Details of time commitment needed for role:
One shift per week, from Monday to Friday. Morning shift from 10 am to 2 pm. Minimum commitment: 3 months

Minimum time commitment per week:
4 hours p/week
