Description

The Givebackathon is a civic-engaged teaching and collaboration initiative developed within the Immersive Software Engineering programme at the University of Limerick. It brings together UL students, academic staff and local charities to address real-world digital and technical challenges faced by organisations working across Limerick and the Mid-West region.

Students will engage with partner charities and gather requirements on their technical needs. A Hackathon day will take place on March 11th in Engine Limerick where students will work on these projects and present them to charities and interested parties at the end of the day.

Present/ build a solution and pitch this (Hackathon Day 8.30-6.30 March 11th)

Benefits of Volunteering:

For students, the project offers transformative learning. Participants develop communication skills, ethical awareness, empathy and confidence in engaging with non-technical stakeholders. They gain direct experience of applying technical skills responsibly and for social good, supporting the development of future graduates who are both technically capable and civically engaged.
