Role Description
As a Monitoring & Impact Evaluation (M&E) Volunteer, you will play a key role in helping Beyond Surviving understand, assess, and communicate the real-life impact of our mission-driven work.
Working within our trauma-informed and ethics-driven approach, you’ll help us track progress, measure impact, and enhance program and initiative effectiveness. Your work will directly inform how we measure success, improve services, and demonstrate accountability to our community, funders, and stakeholders.
By contributing to the design, implementation, and reporting of monitoring and evaluation efforts, you’ll be at the heart of data-informed decision-making and continuous learning within the organisation—helping us to stay aligned with survivor needs and purpose-driven goals.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Support Monitoring Systems
Help develop and refine M&E frameworks aligned with Beyond Surviving’s goals, values, and programme outcomes.
Assist in setting measurable indicators to track progress and impact across our key initiatives, including victim-survivor events and awareness campaigns.
Contribute to the development of data collection tools such as surveys, feedback forms, and interview guides—ensuring they are trauma-informed, inclusive, and accessible.
Data Collection & Management
Support the collection of qualitative and quantitative data through various methods including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and observation.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and confidentiality in accordance with ethical and safeguarding best practices and GDPR legal requirements.
Help organise, clean, and manage data sets in a clear and secure way.
Where appropriate, use digital tools and systems to support efficient and secure data tracking.
Evaluation & Impact Analysis
Assist in evaluating the effectiveness and outcomes of Beyond Surviving’s programmes.
Help analyse data to uncover patterns, insights, and areas for improvement using qualitative and/or quantitative techniques.
Contribute to the development of evaluation reports that highlight successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
Translate findings into clear, engaging formats (e.g. charts, infographics, case studies) to support storytelling and impact communication.
Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement
Support the preparation of concise, compelling reports for internal and external stakeholders—including funders, partners, and relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with relevant volunteers and staff to turn impact data into engaging content for newsletters, social media, and funding applications.
Participate in strategy sessions and contribute M&E insights to planning and programme development.
Ensure that survivor voices, experiences, and feedback are central to all M&E outputs.
Learning & Continuous Improvement
Support the documentation of best practices and key learnings across projects and services.
Contribute to a culture of reflection, feedback, and evidence-based adaptation.
Promote the use of M&E findings to improve existing programmes, shape new initiatives, and increase community impact.

Skills required for this role:
Who We’re Looking For
Passionate about supporting victim-survivors of DSGBV and contributing to our purpose-driven work.
Aligned with Beyond Surviving’s mission, values, and survivor-led, trauma-informed ethos.
Interest or experience in research, evaluation, data collection, or social impact measurement.
Strong organisational and critical thinking skills.
Lived experience of domestic or sexual violence is welcomed but not required.
Committed to ethical data collection and safeguarding practices.
Respectful of survivor confidentiality, boundaries, and lived experience.
Able to commit to a minimum of 6-months volunteering with Beyond Surviving and at least 2 hours per week.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.

2 hour p/week
