We will provide all the training you need to feel confident in the role. The shop manager will be available to give advice and assist you, as well as other experienced volunteers in the team.  Apply now to become part of our friendly team helping to raise money for  Oxfam Ireland. Some give us two hours a week, others give us 20, but no  matter what, they are all making a vital contribution towards the charity’s work.

Tasks and responsibilities

Exciting opportunities for followers of sustainable fashion in Oxfam shops.

WEEKEND RETAIL TEAM MEMBERS / VISUAL MERCHANDISERS/ SOCIAL MEDIA VOLUNTEERS

Do you want to help make a difference in a FUN and BUSY environment? By volunteering in our shops you have the chance to feel satisfied in knowing you are making a  difference as well as having the opportunity to enhance your skills and improve your CV! We are in need of volunteers for the following:

WEEKEND RETAIL TEAM MEMBERS

  • Assist customers and help with any queries
  • Operate the till
  • Support the shop team to ensure excellent customer service is being provided
  • Process deliveries
  • Deliver our sustainable fashion message to customers 
  • Ensure the shop is merchandised and presentable

SOCIAL MEDIA VOLUNTEER

  • Development of brand awareness and online reputation
  • Increase website traffic and grow follower base
  • Promotion of shop stock and events
  • Profile content management
  • Cultivation of leads and sales
  • Engage with the public on a regular basis, with the ultimate goal of turning supporters into customers

VISUAL MERCHANDISER

  • Maximise profit and sales through effective use of space
  •  Maintain Oxfam Ireland model store concept
  • Create window and in-store displays
  • Carry out research to gain a strong understanding of current trends and seasons in order to create themes and colour schemes
  • Develop floor plans, making the most of the space available
  • Apply direction from Head Office on display themes when appropriate
  • Installing and dismantling of displays

Skills required for this role:

Enthusiastic

Good verbal communication skills

Open and approachable

Team Player

Visual merchandiser

Experience working in retail sector

Fashion brand and trend awareness

Have a flair for design and colour

Creative, imaginative and energetic

Communication skills

A keen interest. in art and design

Ability to use large and small spaces effectively

Be self-motivated and practical

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Monday to Saturday.

Minimum time commitment per week:
4 hour p/week
