Requirements:Minimum Requirements • A minimum commitment of 12 months • Applicants must be age 21 years over • Be able to volunteer 4 hours per week
Cancer Care West is currently recruiting Volunteers for our cancer support centre in Galway.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
The role of Volunteer includes:
-Meeting and greeting service user’s attending the support centre
-Orientating services users to the centre
-Applying and developing communication and interpersonal skills
-Completing basic domestic chores i.e. serving hot beverages, using dishwasher etc.
Skills required for this role:
- Effective communication skills
- Good ability to listen and interact in a positive manner with service user's
- Good organisation skills
Minimum time commitment per week:
4 hour p/week
