Our Childrens Summer programme runs for 3 weeks in Westport, Mayo. Children are in 3 different age groups and each group has a 4 day programme each week from Monday to Thursday.
Volunteer leaders help to supervise children, and organise and run activities. Activiites are all outdoor, and include Games, Arts and Crafts, Treasure Hunts, Forest Walks, Surfing, Day trip to Clare Island.
Activities can sometimes just be a morning activity or a day long activity.
Our volunteers will have to be Garda Vetted, and we help our volunteers to access Vetting.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.

Interact with children
Help to organise activities
Supervise Children
Skills required for this role:
Ability to interact with children
An awareness of safety and keeping children safe
An ability to organise childrens activities
An ability to work well as part of a leader team
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Volunteer leaders can give as little or as much time as they want to this role.
Each volunteer has to commit to the duration of each activity. So, for example if an activity runs for a morning, they are expected to be there for the morning.
Volunteers will be on a rota for the duration of the 3 week programme, but the volunteer will determine their availability over the 3 weeks.
Minimum time commitment per week:
4 hour p/week
Additional screening required for this role:
Volunteers will initially have to complete an application form, and a screening interview.
The names of two references have to be provided, both of which will be followed up on
Proof of address and photo ID have to be provided.
Volunteers will have to complete a Garda vetting process, and complete the online Tusla Safeguarding Course.
