Description

This relaunch of the Dalkey Foroige Club will see you working with new leaders and young people aged 14 plus.  

As a Foróige Youth Leader, your role will be to work with fellow adult Leaders as part of a Team, to enable the Dalkey Foróige Club, to meet weekly, to develop and implement different activities with the young people who are members and to help Dalkey Foróige Club to become a strong, fun, welcome space for young people in the neighbourhood.

Foroige Leaders are guardians of their Club and the role of the Leader is to uphold the principles, guidelines and philosophies of Foróige in a Club setting, to work closely together with young people and other Volunteer Leaders, to build strong bonds, to support young people's ideas, opinions and participation in their Club Life.

From helping to arrange a table quiz in a club to making pancakes to organising a fundraising event to purchase Community Defibrillators, the role of the Leader is to support the personal development of a young person in a Club setting. And to have fun while doing so!

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Recruiting young people

Running workshops such as Leadership, baking, sports, quizzes etc

Organise events and activities

Team building

Club Administration

Skills required for this role:

Experience of being a teenager desirable and essential.

Patience, willingness to work as a team, confident in making suggestions and taking on responsibilities to achieve a common goal.

Someone with GSOH (good sense of humour!)

Interest in working with young people.

Any particular skills in sports, drama, music, cookery, art, animation, advocacy, event management, wellness, spoon playing, juggling, mindfulness.. we accept allsorts!

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Friday Evening from 7pm - 8.30pm

Minimum time commitment per week:
3 hour p/week
