Wish Week, taking place from Monday 24th – Saturday 29th April 2023 is Make-A-Wish’s signature fundraising week globally. To support the day, Make-A-Wish® Ireland is appealing to generous students to sign up to become Wish Week volunteers to support a nationwide fundraising drive on Wish Day, Friday 28th April 2023.
As well as raising important funds to help Make-A-Wish grant magical wishes to children living with life-threatening illnesses, it raises awareness and acknowledges the bravery of wish children and their families.
With a fundraising target of €100,000, Dunnes Stores has given permission to Make-A-Wish Ireland to carry out bucket collections at their stores. Collections will be held across two four-hour blocks from 9-1pm and 1-5pm on 28th April at the outlined locations. All volunteers will be provided with training, t-shirts and collection buckets.
Locations:
Make-A Wish® Ireland grants wishes to children between the ages of 3 and 17 years living with life threatening medical conditions. Over the last 30 years, Make-A-Wish has granted over 2900 wishes. These children and their families need the hope, joy and lasting memories that a wish can bring. With over 200 children still on their wish journey and after a challenging few years for fundraising, Make-A-Wish wants to make 2023 the most successful year yet.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Volunteers will carry out bucket collections at Dunnes Stores and in shopping centres across Ireland. Shifts will run for four hours each. Training, collection buckets and t-shirts will be provided to all volunteers.
In addition, Make-A-Wish Ireland is hoping to recruit a number of Coordinators at each location to liaise with head office and coordinate volunteer efforts in each county.

A sunny disposition
Commitment to shake the bucket to collect as much money as possible

Friday 28th April 2023 from 9-1pm and 1pm-5pm at locations across Ireland
Minimum time commitment per week:
4 hour p/week
