We are seeking expressions of interest in the 41st EVA International visitor engagement team!
This is a front facing role, working as an engagement assistant across our exhibition venues in Limerick city throughout August - October 2025.
The visitor engagement team will play an important role in mediating artworks with public audiences, providing outstanding visitor experience at the exhibition front of house, and supporting the EVA team with behind the scenes operations. The engagement team will be able to select their own shifts during venue opening hours (Wednesday to Sunday). In return, participants can deepen their knowledge of contemporary Irish and international art, develop a variety of skills, see how a large-scale event is run, and meet and learn from art professionals.
Please include a brief introduction about yourself, your interest in being involved, and any relevant experience. We're looking for a minimum commitment of 9 hours a week. A stipend will be provided to all participants
EVA International is Ireland’s Biennial of Contemporary Art. EVA was founded by artists in 1977 and it remains one of the longest running visual arts organisations in Ireland, with a history of working with some of the world’s most influential artists and curators.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Engaging with visitors to promote a positive engagement from their visit, whilst helping with security and safety of the exhibition spaces and artworks.
Answering visitor questions and providing orientation at the different venues.
Providing information about the exhibiting artists and biennial show.
Assisting in setting up and clearing up of rooms; stalls, tables, chairs and any other equipment required on the day - this may entail some light lifting and carrying where required for the volunteer.
Monitoring the amount of people in each venue throughout the opening times.
Skills required for this role:
Volunteers will be working as part of a team and are required to have good communication skills.
An interest is the arts or event management is desirable but not entirely necessary.
An Intermediate level of English.
Details of time commitment needed for role:
August 29th - October 26th, 2025. Wednesdays to Sundays 11am-5pm. Volunteer shifts are 3 hours, and we would encourage a commitment of multiple shifts a week.
Minimum time commitment per week:
9 hour p/week
