About the STAND Global Solidarity Festival

The STAND Global Solidarity Festival is a week-long celebration of global citizenship across campuses in Ireland. Each year, it brings students together through our vibrant outdoor exhibition, the lively Global Solidarity Fair, and a variety of thought-provoking events run by students, staff, and guest speakers. From creative workshops and talks to interactive displays, the Festival is a chance to explore how we can build a fairer, more sustainable world .

By joining the Festival Team, you’ll play a key part in making this exciting week happen on your campus.

Who we’re looking for

  • Students who are reliable, proactive, and enthusiastic about global issues.
  • No previous experience needed – just bring your energy and willingness to get involved!

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

What you’ll do

As a Festival Team Volunteer, you’ll support the STAND Festival Manager and your campus team by:

  • Joining two short (1 hour) online planning sessions with the Festival Coordinator.
  • Helping with light administration in the lead-up (e.g. putting up posters, confirming room bookings, sharing event info).
  • Assisting with arrangements for the Global Solidarity Fair (supporting stalls, logistics, and set-up).
  • Being hands-on during Festival Week – helping events run smoothly, welcoming participants, and representing STAND on campus.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Time commitment Before the Festival: 2 x 1-hour online planning sessions, plus light support in your own time (1–2 hours max). During Festival Week: Availability to support at events and the Global Solidarity Fair (flexible shifts).

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
