Description

We are looking for volunteers who will meet and greet day care attendees on arrival, assist with activities, sit and engage with attendees during the day. At Saint Joseph's Shankill feelings matter most. We are also looking for volunteers who would be willing to come to our day care to assist some of the attendees in getting involved in different activities from golf (for example, putting) to small pieces of DIY, making arts and crafts or even just accompanying one or two of the attendees on a stroll around the grounds. Other activities might include playing board games, organising a sing song or simply sitting and chatting about anything from a recent football match to gardening or simply the weather. We are looking for volunteers who are free from 10am - 1pm and from 12pm - 3pm on weekdays.

Is training provided?: Yes

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.

Skills required for this role:

Caring and friendly attitude. Feelings matter most in Saint Joseph's Shankill and we want to create special moments for all our day care attendees so they know that they still matter.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
3 hours per week (from 10am - 1pm or from 12pm - 3pm on weekdays).

Minimum time commitment per week:
3 hour p/week
