Event Volunteers at Battle for the Bay
Requirements:Aged 18+, attendance at induction including Children First training, Garda vetting applies.
Kulijuli is a joint project between Quarryvale Community and Leisure Centre and Quarryvale Family Resource Centre in north Clondalkin. We aim to provide summer activities for up to 200 children aged 6-9 over four weeks in July.
Activities include workshops - e.g. arts and crafts, games, coding, and cooking - sports days, disco and other things. We will also go on day trips, and the last Saturday in July we will hold a community festival.
Volunteers can sign up for the whole month; we prefer that volunteers sign up for one week minimum.
Volunteers will be expected to attend a couple of evening workshops in preparation. All volunteers will be Garda vetted.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Volunteers will support staff and facilitators to run all the activities, (most take place in groups of 12 children). This includes setting up, supporting the children to participate, arranging snacks etc. Monday to Friday activities take place in the mornings. Twice a week we go for a trip away with half the children which will last until 2 p.m. Friday afternoons we hold an end-of-week disco in the afternoon. Volunteers are needed for all activities.
Skills required for this role:
Good team work abilities, good skills to work with the particular age-group.
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Mondays, Thursday and Fridays 9.30-12.30. Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9.30-2.30. In addition Fridays 2-4. Last Saturday in July 12 noon to 5. We would prefer if volunteers could commit to one full week, (or more).
Minimum time commitment per week:
8 hour p/week
Additional screening required for this role:
Garda vetting will be provided and is compulsory.
