Description

Work with individuals and groups of students at risk of early school leaving.

Plan, implement and deliver subject specific tuition

Develop and facilitate after-school activities.

Plan and co-facilitate holiday programmes during school holidays.

Plan, monitor and evaluate the progression of students

Respond to the needs of the project as and when these arise and as directed by the Coordinator

Is training provided?: Yes

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Work with individuals and groups of students at risk of early school leaving.

Plan, implement and deliver subject specific tuition

Develop and facilitate after-school activities.

Plan and co-facilitate holiday programmes during school holidays.

Plan, monitor and evaluate own work and the work of students

Respond to the needs of the project as and when these arise and as directed by the Coordinator

Skills required for this role:

Excellent communication skills.

Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

I.T. skills beneficial.

Willingness and enthusiasm to help and support young people in their post primary education

An ability to relate to young people aged 12-18yrs.

Ability to working in a challenging environment and with young people who are at risk of early school leaving.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Minimum 2/3 hours one day per week (classes are Monday to Friday)

Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
